JP Moser’s Review:
Pavillon de la Reine is an oasis of peace: the flowered courtyard isolates the guest rooms from the outside animation. This hotel is located in the Place des Vosges, with a delightful flowering square of its own, and it stands draped in cascades of ivy and hanging baskets. The Place des Vosges was built in 1605 by King Henry IV of France in the ancient aristocratic quarter of Marais. It is still considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world with nine houses on each side built over arcades which are home to chic restaurants, antique shops, private art galleries and Le Pavillon de la Reine. If your room doesn’t overlook the courtyard, then you may contemplate the patio planted of trees and flowers.
On entering, one can feel its sense of history. The objects d’art are antique and the paintings original, some centuries old. All of the rooms are individually decorated, some with wooden beams, others with a small balcony. Heritage and present-day comforts are cleverly interwoven. The furnishings are designed with typical French flair, the facilities right up-to-date with five-star amenities and luxurious bathrooms. Start your day by enjoying the rich buffet breakfast. The pains au chocolat, croissants, and French baguette bread freshly baked by the next-door baker are always very much appreciated by the guests.
